SA to remain at Level 1, a welcome relief!

Welcome news on the Day of Reconciliation is that the NCCC has decided to keep the country at Level 1, despite vastly increasing Omicron variant Corona Virus cases, but it is the low numbers of hospitalizations and deaths that have allowed the current status quo.

Two Cape Town Restaurants ranked in World’s 50 Best Restaurants Top 100 List!

 

After having skipped the release of the World’s 50 Best Restaurant List in 2020, due to the Corona pandemic, the 2021 World’s 50 Best Restaurant List is back.

The closure of The Test Kitchen on Thursday means that South Africa may no longer have a presence on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants List, only La Colombe and The Test Kitchen, both under the ownership of Chef Luke Dale Roberts, having received the prestigious accolade of having made this list in the past. The 2021 World’s 50 Best List will be announced on 5 October.

Luckily the World’s 50 Best has a bubbling-under List, the World’s Restaurants ranked from 51 to 100 already having been announced. Cape Town’s La Colombe and Fyn restaurants have made it onto this list. Continue reading →

Germany and the USA lift South Africa from their high-risk Traveller Lists !

 

While the UK remains steadfast in keeping South Africa on its Red List, Germany and the USA have announced the welcome news that they will welcome travellers from South Africa, report Businesstech and fin24.

Each of these two countries still have some entrance requirements, but these are mild compared to the rigorous regulations demanded of local travellers by the UK Government.
