Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a lovely day, at 22 C, the wind blowing since this afternoon; for reaching a compromise solution in my second challenge carried over from yesterday; for a walk to Clifton and back, earning 300 Discovery points; for a good Zoom meeting for our Camps Bay Ratepayers Committee meeting, especially happy that the Camps Bay Tidal Pool is one of three to receive a decorative upgrade to educate Pool users about fish and sea life, a request which I had made to Councillor Nicola Jowell soon after we met about one and a half years ago, I wanting a no-litter message included 🙏; for replying to a message from a bully I had received quite some time ago, proud of standing up to him 😡; for being very happy to receive a meeting request later this week 💙; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful sunny day, slightly cooler than yesterday; for a busy writing morning; for a quick walk to Bakoven; for a quick stop at Vivian Warby to bring her the last harvested cauliflower from the garden; for a successful shoot this afternoon for my new client, by Brian Van Hansen; for a quick stop at Woolies Regent Road, and a quick chat with Adrian Lazarus of Bokeh Creative Studio; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Fat Harry’s in Kenilworth transformed from Bar to Restaurant with a Bar, with new owners, new decor, new kitchen and chef, new menu!

Yesterday Fat Harry’s reopened in Kenilworth as a transformed Restaurant with a Bar, with new owners, a new chef, a new menu, and a complete makeover. Co-owner and restaurateur Stuart Bailey, who has many years experience of opening and running Restaurants, including Hussar Grill, Slug & Lettuce, the Harbour House Group, and Cowboys & Cooks restaurants, has created a new quality neighbourhood eatery in the Southern Suburbs, with a brand new bar.

Last week I was invited to try some of the dishes at Fat Harry’s, and I invited Eugene van Eck, who lives a block away from the restaurant, to join me for dinner.

Tuesday 27 October 2020, Day 37 of Level 1, Day 215 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Virus 🙏

#Grateful for a most lucky day, my horoscope for today coming true, in that I signed up my first Communications client today, the beginning of a new journey 🙏; for an action-packed day, with perfect timing of all my stops; for bumping into George Sax at Utopia restaurant; for receiving a naughty but nice very comfortable mask when I donated blood today🩸; for receiving my Tourist Guiding badge from the Western Cape Dept of Economic Affairs and Tourism, five months after submitting my paperwork for it 😱; for meeting dear friend Jenny Stephens at the new Old Town Italy in the Waterfront, in the former Kauai space, a huge disappointment for anyone who knows its sister store in Umhlanga; for being able to buy a 2021 diary at CNA (no other customers in the store), for getting my Discovery vouchers cashed in at the Waterfront branch when they did not work at the Pick n Pay in Camps Bay; for collecting my post; for finding an affordable German brand potato peeler at Yuppie Chef at the V&A; for being invited to a trial dinner at the relaunched Fat Harry’s in Kenilworth, now co-owned by my friend Stuart Bailey – what a transformation; for Henry being back at work after exam leave; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
