Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a warm windy day, ahead of a wet weekend; for an early start, joining Brian Van Hansen on a visit to The Beach House in Hout Bay for breakfast while Brian shot photographs for the guest house website; for meeting The Beach House owner Sylvie Wrankmore, proudly showing me her rooms, and her fabulous vegetable garden; for sitting with Brian to select the best pics of our shoot on Tuesday; for a quick walk to Bakoven; for a short and sweet client meeting; for fetching Jenny Stephens and driving to Wellington, where we left our car, and were fetched by Elaine Wegelin, school classmate and Tour Guide on our Wellington Wine Walk, with whom we have had anxious discussions about the forecast weekend rain over the past few days; for our lovely accommodation at Cascade Manor outside Paarl, with an olive oil tasting, followed by dinner with other walkers in our group; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

#Grateful for a sunny day, but cooler than most days of the past week; for a Camps Bay walk, stopping at Pick n Pay to buy the Daily Maverick 168; for being driven safely to Hout Bay and back by Johan Prins; for a generous Sunday Roast Lunch at Quentin at Oakhurst Barn, seeing Melanie Davidow briefly for a hello; for a Bakoven walk; for dancing the rest of my step quota to Kfm; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

It will be offering Tapas for 2 for four courses at R1500 for two persons, an increase in the cost of eating at Tintswalo Atlantic in terms of a higher price and one less course, from just two months ago.   Continue reading →

Sunday 11 October 2020, Day 21 of Level 1, Day 199 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful 22C day, just perfect; for a relaxed peaceful day; for the spontaneous decision to head out to Hout Bay, and to Delish specifically, seeing their Sunday Special of Duck, my absolute favorite, and lucky to get a table at such short notice; for meeting Michelle Verhave Müller, owning the restaurant with her daughter Chef Amber, connecting with Michelle immediately, intrigued by her maiden name and the link, if any, to the late father of my Alex; for a walk through Hout Bay, not having done so in more than a year; for visiting the newish Deus ex Machina in the Kronendal building and former home of Kitima, what a culture clash 😱; for a walk up to the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, with a lot of litter to pick up there; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
