Thursday 4 February 2021, First Thursday, Day 40 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 316 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a fabulous day that just got better and better, ending off on a high note; for a lovely warm day with little wind, although the mountains were covered in clouds; for a brisk walk to Clifton, earning 300 Discovery points, being less stressed about mask-wearing as there were fewer walkers about; for a longer than planned Skype meeting with a representative of my Canadian Tour Guiding company based in India, talking about the company’s marketing and Social Media, which I will assist them with, and writing Cape Town content too; for my two poppy seed rolls waiting for me at Dinkel Bakery; for being healthy enough to donate blood; for a good status meeting with my client over lunch, I having a healthy delicious Caprese Salad; for a long-overdue session with my podiatrist; for popping in at the WCafé at Woolies in Sea Point for a juice; for being spoilt when I went to see George Sax at the new Kloof Street Hotel; for being thoroughly spoilt by Gary Peterson and Thomas, as well as by the new ëlgr, the restaurant with the most difficult name in Cape Town, meaning ‘moose’; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

#Grateful for a sunny warmer day, with a mild South Easter this afternoon; for a busy writing day; for a tea meeting at Firefly Café with Ryan Rudy, who heads up the Camps Bay Community Security Initiative; for a meeting with Chris Willemse, Chairman of the Camps Bay and Clifton Ratepayers Association, and Alma Horn, at their home, to be briefed on my Marketing role as a new member of the Management Committee; for harvesting three huge beetroot from the veg garden today; for posting my second SwitchBitch book to Marianne Busche in Johannesburg, so easy via Aramex courier at Pick n Pay; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful warm 28C day; for a blood sugar level of 5,6; for a writing and admin-filled day; for a Camps Bay walk, tagging on a Pick n Pay shop to get my copy of Daily Maverick 168, just missing the worst of the queue at the tills; for having been co-opted onto the Camps Bay & Clifton Ratepayers Association committee, looking after the Marketing Portfolio, having served on the committee many moons ago; for attending the first Committee meeting this evening; for dancing to Kfm; for being able to assist Sentech in fixing the Kfm reception (in the car) in our area; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
