Meaningful Monday: What we can learn from new 2023 Wimbledon Men’s Single Champion Carlos Alcaraz

Yesterday world tennis history was made when 20 year old Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz won the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final against Serbian Novak Djokovic in a close to five hour long battle.

I don’t know much about Tennis, but when I saw a Social Media post of the Camps Bay Social Club that it would be screening the Men’s Single Final, I spontaneously booked a table. And what a great vibe it was in the restaurant, with the sentiment strongly in support for Alcaraz.

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, but cooler at 18C; for a busy writing day, writing two stories; for celebrating KitKat being with me for 6 months already, my Easter ‘present’, giving me so much love and joy, just like his ‘sister’ Minsky 😻😻; for harvesting some carrots from the garden; for a longer walk, up to Clifton 4th Beach, sadly with lots of litter alongside Glen Beach and Maidens Cove, being well rewarded by Discovery in Miles, being very close to getting back to Gold status for the third year running; for dancing to Kfm 💃;and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

South Africa reduces list of Red countries for Leisure Tourism to 22, adds Germany!

The Department of Home Affairs has just announced its revised list of Red countries, being the countries whose citizens and residents may not travel into our country as Leisure Tourists. The initial List of 60 countries was announced on 30 September, with a promise of it being updated every 14 days, but the announcement today is late by five days!

Very sadly Germany has been added to the Red List, making all the Big Five source markets for our country Red!  Spain has been added to the List too, it having been a surprise that the country was not on the initial Red List.
