Monday 19 October 2020, Day 29 of Level 1, Day 207 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, but cooler at 18C; for a busy writing day, writing two stories; for celebrating KitKat being with me for 6 months already, my Easter ‘present’, giving me so much love and joy, just like his ‘sister’ Minsky 😻😻; for harvesting some carrots from the garden; for a longer walk, up to Clifton 4th Beach, sadly with lots of litter alongside Glen Beach and Maidens Cove, being well rewarded by Discovery in Miles, being very close to getting back to Gold status for the third year running; for dancing to Kfm 💃;and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

My Blogpost this morning was about the opening in November of The Restaurant at Grande Roche, announced two days ago, just ten days after the former hotel restaurant Viande closed its doors. I am surprised and more than sceptical.

The Restaurant at Grande Roche opens in two weeks, just after Viande Restaurant closes down at the Paarl hotel!

This afternoon the Department of Home Affairs finally announced the new Red List for International Leisure Travellers, in true Africa Time, five days after the update deadline ….. Sadly bad news for us in the Tourism industry. 😢😢😢 How ironic that our Minister of Health has tested positive for Corona. 😱😷

South Africa reduces list of Red countries for Leisure Tourism to 22, adds Germany!

A quiet Camps Bay day.

SA Corona Status 705254 cases 18492 deaths 😷😥

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
