Utopia Cape Town launches new Tasting Menu, with Vegetarian and Vegan options too!

 

Utopia Cape Town has spoilt Capetonians with its incredible value for money Tasting Menus in the past two years, having become the talk of the town in offering its value Tasting Menus in its 15th floor location, with magnificent views over the city and its icons, and onto Cape Town Stadium, Lion’s Head, the Harbour, and Table Mountain specifically.

Utopia Cape Town launched not only a new Meat/Fish Tasting Menu last week, but added a Vegetarian as well as a Vegan option too. For the first time in two years it has increased its Tasting Menu prices to R245, still offering excellent value.

# grateful for a wonderful day, the new month having a good feeling, and being in Level 1 is a bonus; for a sunny but windy day, but not too strong to do a walk to Pick n Pay; for the fabulous day, after 4 months of hell, that Franklin the Nigerian tenant of Sacha Jack’s apartment 201 has checked out of our building, as has the Nigerian in 202, leaving only one, with a new American lady arriving today, staying for 4 months, the two of us sure to sort out noise disturbances, the lift not having moved Continue reading →

Utopia Cape Town launches new Winter Tasting Menu, celebrates serving alcohol again!

 

The Tasting Menu of Utopia Cape Town was launched in November 2020 for the first time, the marketing rationale of offering a five course Tasting Menu at an unbeatable unbelievable R195 beimg to attract new diners to the restaurant, making it the talk of the town, not only for its spectacular 15th floor view.

The Tasting Menu proved to be so popular that Utopia Cape Town launched a Vegetarian Tasting Menu too, also offering five courses at R195.

Matt’s Homespun opens second restaurant, at The Andros Boutique Hotel in Claremont

 

I have the highest regard for Chef Matt Schreuder of Homespun in Blouberg, for the creativity of his world class Secret Supper Club in particular, and his Tasting Menus which are of a Top 10 Restaurant standard.

Ahead of the official opening on Friday 18 June, I was invited to a ‘friends and family’ preview of Chef Matt’s new Homespun at The Andros 5 star Boutique Hotel in Claremont on Saturday evening. It was my first visit to the Hotel.  The Hotel has an old-world charm and dates back to 1908. It was designed by renowned Sir Herbert Baker.  It has 15 rooms. Parking is available on the propperty.
