Saturday 6 November 2021, Day 37 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a mixed day of energy and of relaxation; for a cool day of 19C; for a light traffic drive to Harvest Culture Eaterie at Tyger Falls Waterfront for a Status meeting, served my favorite Dilmah Earl Grey tea with a slice of their newest Baked Cheesecake cake addition, so beautifully presented; for getting a Business Card designed at Wizardz in the Waterfront, using a special, realizing that for what I do I need a card, mine being at least 3 years out of date; for a shock discovery of the sign of the times that CNA and the Post Office have closed down in the Waterfront, although the post boxes are Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful summer day, again close to 30 C in the city; for surviving the day on 3,5 hours of sleep; for getting my work done in time this morning; for an entertaining hour with Garth Angus of Wagyu Direct, giving him a crash course in Social Media; for collecting my poppyseed rolls at Dinkel; for a good Status meeting at Utopia; for the luck of getting great coverage in Cape Town Etc for Anatoli; for a shopping spree at the Waterfront, wishing I hadn’t; for a less energetic stroll to the Camps Bay Pick n Pay, getting some groceries I had intended to get in the Waterfront; and for being healthy but tired. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a lovely smooth flowing day; for it being a warm 24C day without wind; for a PowerWalk to Clifton and back, happy that it gave me 300 Discovery points after yesterday’s disappointing points; for a bonus 400 points for my healthy Pick n Pay purchases; for a good status meeting with my client, finalising the Valentine’s Day Menu ❤️; for collecting my poppyseed rolls at Dinkel Bakery; for shopping for my German treats at Hartlief; for a quick pop-in at the Waterfront, quiet this afternoon, paying my hopefully last Vodacom contract account ever; for a chocolate purchase at Tomes ❤️, and collecting my post; for a late breakfast at the WCafé at Woolworths; for collecting ordered lightbulbs at RG Jack for our apartment block; for a lovely dinner at Utopia with dear friend Charlotte Zachariou and her husband Nick, visiting our city from Knysna, being spoilt with oysters, they eating the Tasting Menu (5 courses at R195) while I had an octopus starter and ice cream dessert, playing Uber for them; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Tuesday 22 December 2020, Day 93 of Level 1, Day 272 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a most beautiful day at close to 30C, with very little wind this afternoon even though the mountains were shrouded in clouds; for an early trip to the Waterfront, where Brian Van Hansen took some pics after he’d finished playing the piano for breakfast at The Table Bay Hotel, which I needed for my Tour Guiding Operator in Canada; for Brian accompanying me in running through the Waterfront, doing last minute shopping and chores before Christmas; for the Waterfront having a Covid Marshall, addressing people not wearing their masks; for getting my car wheel pressure indicator reset, still not being able to do it after 5 years, Hennie Kriel having spoilt me at Audi; for spoiling myself with a Dairy Den ice cream; for a walk through a reasonably busy Camps Bay; for a special call with Barbara Lenhard, not having spoken since she and Florian returned to Germany 8 months ago, and hoping to fly to Cape Town tomorrow evening; for having dinner at Utopia with Vivian Warby this evening; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
