KLM to increase flight frequency to celebrate 30 years of flying to Cape Town!

 

KLM Airlines will be operating daily flights between Amsterdam and Cape Town from 22 July.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of flying between the two cities, the airline will increase the flight frequency between the cities to ten per week from November, the airline has announced. Continue reading →

President Ramaphosa announces new regulation relaxation, Disaster Management Act to fall away after 16 April!

 

In his first speech to the nation in almost six months, his first Corona speech being two years ago, President Ramaphosa announced the lifting of the National State of Disaster Act once the public has commented on new Health regulations by 16 April.

The President enumerated the positive and negative effects of the Corona Virus over the two years.

He described our country as being at a watershed moment after four waves, due to 60 – 80 % of our country’s population having an illness immunity and/or being vaccinated. He said that the country’s economy has almost returned to normal. Continue reading →

Meet Chef Judi Fourie of Pilcrow & Cleaver and Fideli’s: 2021 Top 10 Woman Chef!

 

Chef Judi Fourie received recognition as one of the Cape’s Top Women Restaurateurs last year. This year she has been selected as a 2021 Top 10 Woman Chef, owning both Pilcrow & Cleaver as well as Fideli’s on Parliament Street in the Cape Town city centre, as well as three Judith Fresh Cafés. She received a bottle of Adhara Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil as her prize.
Chef Judi fearlessly opened Fideli’s nine months ago, and offered a weekly menu for Pilcrow & Cleaver which one could collect or have delivered. It was the restaurant  I supported the most during Lockdown, collecting a freshly-made order combined with a friendly chat with Chef Judi, and a shop at Fdeli’s. She is an innovative marketer, most recently handing out Fideli’s vouchers as a thank you to persons who have been vaccinated. She is a trailblazer for SASSI, supporting sustainable fishing.
