Sunday 12 September 2021, Day 47 of Level 3 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a rainy morning, ideal for staying in bed and to catch up on a very busy and at times stressful week; for the weather clearing, with a lovely sunny afternoon; for surviving a shortage of sleep after a massive noise disturbance by the Nigerian tenant of Rhode Snyman’s Ebbtide 101 apartment after midnight, having to call the police and the security company; for a lovely refreshing longer, more exerting walk in Camps Bay; for starting to write some Blogposts for the week ahead; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙

Super excited that Utopia is one of three nominees for the World Culinary Awards’ Best Rooftop Restaurant in Africa! Just a few weeks after making the Kfm Top 5 Date Night Restaurant in the Cape. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you Kelly Szabo for spotting it. 🙏

The President’s Speech starts at 20h00. Holding thumbs for Level 2 with a later Curfew start.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July, and returned to Level 3 on 26 July, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a night’s sleep, with a far longer deep sleep than normal, waking up to the lovely sound of the waves; for an amazing breakfast brought up to my room, enjoying it on my terrace, with granola and fruit salad, and scrambled egg and breakfast, with tea; for finishing my writing work this morning; for a fun long walk with Jeanette Loring along the beach to the other end of Gordon’s Bay, seeing quaint shops and the other restaurants in Gordon’s Bay; for being able to pick up litter on the way, I having brought my cleaning gloves with me; for catching up on work this afternoon; for a Continue reading →
