Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a challenge of a day, with no power in Camps Bay for 21 hours, affecting the whole Atlantic Seaboard, City centre and Bowl, and Woodstock, not knowing how long it would take to be fixed, not sure if I should sleep more, or get up and walk, my phone battery being flat already, so the first start was to get up and get my power bank from the car, so while it was charging the phone, no messages were going out and I couldn’t make calls; I fetched a gift of a shirt, biscuits and a donation for my new cleaner Gift from the home of June Willy Temple, whom I still have not met #thankyou; for heading to Zest so that I could work using their Wifi and having breakfast there too, until the Piazza da Luz generators had to be switched off to give them a rest and allow them to cool down, so that more diesel could be added; for picking up a generous donation of energy drinks and energy bars from Steve Thompson, who helped us clean up Camps Bay on Saturday morning, also for Gift ; for a wonderful snooze when I got home, it being the hottest day this summer at 30C and surprised at how exhausting doing next to nothing can be….. 😱😂; for a cooler sunset walk, with beautiful sunsets; for Henry manually opening and closing our garage door, to get in and out of the building, as our sliding doors to outside were in locked mode 💙😱; for a lovely gift made by Henry 💙; and for being happy, healthy and free 🙏💙

No Blogpost without power today. 😱

Utopia had to cancel all its dinner bookings of last night and lunch today, as the Capital Mirage building has no generator. It has never suffered Loadshedding in De Waterkant, but this was a blackout caused by a fire. 😱

Zest could not cook on its fire grill as the extractor does not work without electricity. It was very busy at breakfast this morning. The Woolies NowNow in the Plazza da Luz was busier than I’ve ever seen. I wanted to buy balloons for the birthday of one of our chefs but the RockaRolla balloon shop was closed all day. 🎈😱🎈

I was able to catch up on emails and most Birthday messages this afternoon, and feel on top of things again.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, and returned to Level 1 on 1 October is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
