Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a day of spoiling 🙏; for a quick post for a client; for a good Camps Bay Community Beach Clean, with 6 adults and 3 children, filling 10 bags, and meeting a new resident of Camps Bay, and a German family which has just taken over a Sea Point guest house; for bumping into Johnny Nortje on the beachfront, with a catch up after a long time of not seeing each other; for being spoilt by The 41 Restaurant, our Camps Bay Clean sponsors, with tea and water on the lawn at the Beach, and then with a breakfast, their Manager Emma Farquharson being extremely efficient 💙; for a rediscovery of the ‘Old Cape Quarter’ (yes, its official name), with a Japanese homeware store (Setamono) a joint restaurant/lifestyle store called Alchemy Juice Bar and Shamballa Lifestyle, a huge space, the Shamballa very lightweight and disappointing, a jewelry store, and a restaurant called Baked to open, many shops still unoccupied, the shops alongside on Waterkant Street very interior decor oriented; for a walk through the Cape Quarter, a few shops still unoccupied, but interesting new shops having opened, barely any clothing ones compared to the past, with a small Clicks that didn’t have a battery operated Aquafresh toothbrush I needed 😱, with a market in the square, even seeing Massimo of Hout Bay pizza restaurant Massimo’s there with a limoncello stand; with the amazing find of Nibbly Bits, with incredibly low priced scones, croissants, sandwiches, rusks, cupcakes, chocolates, and much more, shopping up a storm there; for Jennifer Morris owned Yumcious Café having its buffet of fabulous delights of chicken pie, pork belly, avo, potato salad, roast sweet potato, roast potatoes, and more, having a nibble there and taking the rest home with me; for being spoilt with a complimentary massage at the new Avanzate (meaning advanced in Italian) beauty salon on the first floor of the Old Cape Quarter, not easy to find, realizing that it is many years ago that I spoilt myself with a beauty treatment; for fabulous non-stop music, no ads, and no talking on Kfm’s Blokparty; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙

Sadly the Old Cape Quarter closed at 15h00, even the Alchemy restaurant, losing all its charm.

A troublemaker Leila McKellen decided to rehash the Himitsu saga on Facebook, seeking vengeance, so I blocked her. One of her followers Justin saw her rant, and sent me Messenger messages. I replied calmly and explained what had happened, and we had a very constructive win-win discussion about it. 💙

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, returned to Level 1 on 1 October,  and the Curfew Curfew lifted on 30 December 2021 is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
