Monday 28 March 2022, Day 179 of Level 1 😷
Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏
#grateful for a good day, ending off in a surprise fashion; for it being cooler at 21C, and Lions Head covered, signaling the rain forecast for tomorrow; for a busy working day, posting for clients and finishing one of two client newsletters for April, but taking a lunch break walk to Camps Bay, also preparing my input for the Camps Bay & Clifton Ratepayers Association meeting I could not attend, clashing with a 18h00 event in the Waterfront; for another 2000 steps walked around the couch this afternoon, knowing I’d be late in coming home after dark; for seeing Rose Klein and Hans-Werner Klein at the Launch of Cape Town Tourism’s new ‘#Findyourfreedomincpt marketing campaign at the Zeitz MOCAA in the Waterfront, representing my clients Zest and newkings boutique hotel, a campaign launching in London, New York, and Berlin too; for seeing Edward Morton, Brand Ambassador at the Royal Portfolio, and Johandri Ras, new Deputy GM of the Silo Hotel, having a Jameson and dessert there; for getting home safely; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙
My Blogpost today was about MasterChef SA Season 4 Week 4, three contestants going home last week:
The Silo Hotel service in the Willaston Bar was not up to its usual standard, I looking forward to a sweet end to the evening, receiving three different menus until I got the correct Dessert one. The Hotel is amazing. I walked past a ground floor reception desk, not knowing any of the staff. I turned left into the Bar without walking past the 6th floor Reception. Yet my presence in the hotel had been communicated to the 6th floor, and hence Edward and then later Johandri Skuimpie Ras came to chat, the latter telling me about his three years or so at North Island in the Seychelles, one of THE resorts in Africa, and another two years at Time & Tide Miavana in Madagascar, happy to be back on home ground. Johandri worked at Delaire Graff with my Alex von Ulmenstein, and followed my nephew Nick Solomon at North Island. He kindly comped the dessert, due to the service issues. 🙏
It was sad to see two vehicles in the sun with two dogs each this afternoon, near the Tidal Pool, the windows hardly open. One owner returned while I was chatting to the car guard nearby and took exception to me addressing him about his dogs, becoming aggressive and angry, telling me that he is a dog behaviorist! He certainly needs some Anger Management. 😡
