Sunday 27 June, Day 13 of Level 3 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a sunny morning, enjoying sitting in the sun with Dilmah tea at The 42, spoilt by Manager Emma and chatting to owner Giles; for being me-focused, letting go of the busyness of this week; for surviving another noisy tenant evening in our building; for two walks, one to Camps Bay, to The 41 and to Woolies, and the other a late afternoon one to Bakoven, the rain clouds rolling in for the next wave (pardon the pun) of rain forecast, a whole week’s worth, maybe not too bad if we won’t be able to go anywhere ….; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙

Dr Orthopedic Surgeon Juan’s son and friend had a massive party here after the start of Curfew, a young woman screaming outside and cars roaring in/out of our garage, until about 1h00. I managed to distract myself with a video, to relax after yesterday’s busy day. I had not seen him since Thursday evening, and reminded him to return my charger plug, mentioning too that they were very inconsiderate with the noise last night. Sheepishly he arrived at my door with two left-over bottles of Jameson and a bottle of wine, to apologize, seeing that he cannot travel with them back to Joburg. It’s been blissfully quiet all day, great for writing a Blogpost for this coming week.

I’m praying for our Restaurant industry tonight, hoping that they do not get affected too badly by the new restrictions rumoured to be coming with Level 4. #PresidentsSpeech

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, and moved back to level 3 on 16 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
