Sunday 26 September 2021, Day 14 of Level 2 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#grateful for a very misty morning turning into a 19C sunny day; for a relaxed but writing day, getting three Blogposts for the week ahead done; for a Woolies walk, becoming a bad habit 😱; for a lovely Bakoven walk with a great sunset, meeting Yuri the Russian on Beta Road, where I pick up litter left by a homeless person in the driveway of the house almost daily on my walks, starting a conversation with the owner from Moscow, but also able to speak German, inviting me for a glass of wine a next time I pass by and telling me that he bought his house at the start of Lockdown last year; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙
I’m inquisitive when it comes to new restaurants opening, and noticed an open door in a space next to the staircase going up to Woolworths. It is to open as Beach House, a tapas restaurant, and next door Bovine will open, a steak and meat restaurant, both owned by Steve Maresch of The Local Grill in Joburg. Chef Cheyne Morrisby is opening a Mexicola Locale in the old Sunset Sessions in Camps Bay and is putting up a Food Truck in the Bay Hotel parking area. Wow, a lot happening in Camps Bay. SPD leads CDU by 1 % point at this stage in the German Government election, with a new Chancellor replacing Angela Merkel. 😱 (Update: 2 % points lead this morning)
Where is our Family Meeting tonight? Two weeks ago the President promised to update us within 14 days.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July, returned to Level 3 on 26 July, and returned to Level 2 on 13 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
