#grateful for a looooong day, getting home at 21h30; for lovely rain this morning; for Minsky coming back safely early this morning, being out all night and surviving the rain 😻; for preparing for four client Status meetings in a row this morning, followed by a half an hour me-spoil in Sea Point; for a quick chat with Celia Mauerberger, having parked near the Frosted shop; for meeting with newkings boutique hotel and Zest, lovely to see Zest so busy for lunch, and welcoming Takuan von Arnim of Continue reading →

Hospitality industry calls for end to Curfew, to allow for midnight New Years Eve celebrations!

 

A group of Hospitality entrepreneurs has called on the government to lift the Curfew, to allow South Africans to celebrate New Years Eve at midnight and later. The call for the end to the Curfew is supported by the Leader of the DA John Steenhuisen, according to News24.

The Hospitality Leadership What’s App Group has issued a petition,  and received more than 500 signatures to date.  Hospitality leaders Randolf Jorberg of Beerhouse, David Donde of Truth Coffee Roasting, and Ebrahim Asmal of SIX in Johannesburg have initiated the petition. Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a very misty morning turning into a 19C sunny day; for a relaxed but writing day, getting three Blogposts for the week ahead done; for a Woolies walk, becoming a bad habit 😱; for a lovely Bakoven walk with a great sunset, meeting Yuri the Russian on Beta Road, where I pick up litter left by a homeless person in the driveway of the house almost daily on my walks, starting a conversation with the owner from Moscow, but also able to speak German, inviting me for a glass of wine a next time I pass by and telling me that he bought his house at the start of Lockdown last year; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a beautiful day, peaking at 24C; for a morning treat, after some work, to pick up croissants at Paris Cape Town (very buzzy), an ice cream at The Dairy Den (very empty), the Oranjezicht Urban City Farm Market (very buzzy, lovely to chat to Sheryl Ozinsky 💙), and fetching post at the Waterfront (very quiet); for a walk to Camps Bay, jam-packed, everyone out to enjoy the beautiful day, with a huge traffic jam late afternoon; for a beautiful sunset; for a long chat with Stuart Bailey, excited about what our President will say tonight; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
