Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏
#grateful for a day with a difference, getting up early to complete my work before leaving on a Safari Tour; for fetching my American clients Sonja and Mark; for Mike my favorite petrol attendant at BP President being at work and getting my car ready for the big trip; for the amazing Jeanette Loring allowing us to leave my clients’ suitcases with her in Gordon’s Bay 💙; for a smooth drive to Swellendam, where we had a lunch stop, finding that the Old Gaol had moved to the other end of the town, my clients ordering Bobotie, a ‘Moerse Burger’ and I a chicken pie, sharing a slice of Melktert, definitely not as good in food and service compared to how it used to be; for Sonja entertaining me in the front seat while we drove the second half of the trip to Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, near Klein Brakriver; for a three course dinner with the largest portions I’ve ever been served, as part of our stay in luxury rented accommodation at Botlierskop; for just hearing an elephant grunting outside my window 😱; for being carted uphill, our Accommodation being at the bottom of the steepest hill I’ve ever seen, but our walk downhill being easy by comparison; for being lucky to have such lovely clients; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙
My Blogpost today was about a new Restaurant Venture of Chef Liam Tomlin.
The Bailey new Bakery, Brasserie, and Bars on Bree Street, to be opened by Chef Liam Tomlin!

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July, returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, returned to Level 1 on 1 October, and the Curfew Curfew lifted on 30 December 2021 is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
