Saturday 2 October 2021, Day 2 of Level 1

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for rain this morning and the lightest drizzle this afternoon, a chilly day that warmed up as the sun came out but cold now; for a morning meeting at Zest, it being so busy that it’s hard to sit down before the restaurant fills up, and enjoying a yoghurt and fruit bowl for breakfast; for seeing Graham Sonnenberg and Tony De Klerk at Zest for the second time in two days 💙; for Herman Lategan writing a lovely review about eating at Zest; for my bed linen washed and dried at the laundry nearby in Sea Point, within two hours while I was at the meeting; for posting for clients when I got home; for a walk to Woolies to buy marshmallows, having my first hot chocolate this year, seeing sticks of hot chocolate by House of Coffees at Pick n Pay earlier this week, at R7 odd, a real treat; for lovely music on Kfm Blokparty, just wanting to go dancing again 💃; for the best night’s sleep in 4 months, without any shrieking women or duff duff music coming from Sacha Jack’s apartment 201 or lift noise at EbbTide; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙

Mercury is retrograde until 18 October, and made itself felt today. I’m keeping smiling and won’t let it affect me. I’m going to hide in my bed shortly, and escape with German TV. 😱

My newkings boutique hotel client is wonderful. He cannot stop raving about the October newsletter. 🙏

The Cape Town Cycle Tour sign has gone up in Camps Bay, for next Sunday.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, and returned to Level 1 on 1 October is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
