Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a peaceful night’s sleep; for a beautiful day, at 18C and sunny, and feeling the love from good friends; for getting my client work done so that I could leave home with a clear conscience, after a Bakoven walk; for picking up an order at Hartlief at High Constantia, the service sadly not matching that of the Garden’s Centre branch; for exceptional service at Woolworths and Checkers at Constantia Emporium 👏👏👏; for a lovely afternoon at the home of Rose Klein and Werner, spoilt with the lovely lunch of Gulasch; Kartoffelknödel (dumplings) and red cabbage, evoking memories of my mom’s cooking, paired with a lovely Shiraz, followed by a big pot of tea and a lit fire, and getting home just before it got dark; for a lovely surprise visit by Gary Peterson and friend just as I got home, having tea and a glass of wine đŸ·, it being warm enough to sit on the terrace, even getting Gary to do some dance steps; for fabulous dance music on Kfm’s Blokparty; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙

At Woolworths Constantia Emporium the lovely cashier ‘washed’ my credit card with sanitizer after I paid with it. I’ve never experienced this at any of its branches. At Checkers I shopped efficiently, having a list, compiled from the Specials list seen on their website, having a Checkers Savings card, and picking up a bag of cat food, for multiple uses đŸ˜č🙀. It was busy in the store but my wait in the queue was about 10 minutes long. 👏👏👏

Gary and his friend were luckily with me when we heard a loud banging inside the lift, and then found an intruder in our garage, a barber who had cut the hair of the Nigerian staying in Sacha Jack’s EbbTide 201 apartment. The Nigerian did not let him out of the building, a security breach, and the barber was super agitated, the Nigerian not taking his calls. I opened the door to let him out! đŸ„”đŸ„”đŸ„”đŸ„”

Sacha Jack appears to have asked her friends to write to me, to blast me for writing about their ‘philantrophic’ friend who clearly can do no harm to even a fly….. Not sure how money greed and philantrophy marry? How ‘philantrophic’ is a person who has to describe herself as a ‘philanthropist’ on Facebook? #CruellaWarfare

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June and extended by two weeks on 11 July,  is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
