Sunday 13 September 2020, Day 27 of Level 2, Day 171 of Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for lovely rain today, less this morning but coming down regularly and heavily this afternoon, and more forecast for tonight; for bursts of sun in-between, yet the rain ☔️ arriving so quickly that I had to take shelter at Kauai and drink a tea while waiting for the heavy rain to end ; for a very quiet start to the day, lazing in bed; for the highlight of watching ‘My Octopus Teacher’ 🐙 by Craig Foster, filmed in Simonstown, what a documentary, unable to eat octopus after watching it; for harvesting my first spinach from the veggie garden, adding it to a mushroom and port sauce I made with my pasta for supper; for dancing to DJ Fresh on Kfm; for having the 💙 of KitKat for five months 😻; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I signed up to Netflix again, finding the lowest rate of R59 per month, having cancelled when I was on an overseas package which went over R200 pm due to the exchange rate at the beginning of Lockdown. What a wonderful story ‘My Octopus Teacher’ is. And what an amazing salute to our SA film makers. 👏👏👏
I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to create a Facebook Page for Camps Bay Clean. Marius Blanc of The 41 Restaurant in Camps Bay will be offering a coffee voucher to each person assisting with the Beach Clean Up we are doing next Saturday from 10h30, a joint venture between Camps Bay Clean and #PickItUp. (Rick Jackson Tracy Jackson) 🙏🙏🙏
From being a wanderer cat when KitKat first arrived on my doorstep today five months ago, he has become the most domesticated relaxed cat, mainly staying at home, always looking for me, and rubbing against my legs so that I know that he is here. When I watched the documentary I realized again what a special bond I have with him, just like Craig Foster had with the octopus 🐙. I wondered if he had a special name for her. I also realized how precious the ocean is, and was happy that he did not mention litter on the beach or underwater. 👏👏👏😻😻😻

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, and lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
