Saturday 19 September 2020, Day 33 of Level 2, Day 175 of Lockdown. 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a super sunny day, not a cloud, and a warm 19C in the sun, but chilly now as the wind has turned North-West, bringing us rain tomorrow; for a successful Camps Bay Clean this morning, with a lovely community spirit; for a two-hour Vit D sizzle in the sun on my terrace; for another Camps Bay walk this afternoon, to shop at Pick n Pay, disappointed that there was so much litter after we had cleaned it up so nicely this morning 😱😢; for a catch up chat with Jenny Stephens this morning, not having seen her in a week, she being very busy; for dancing to Kfm 💃; and for being happy and healthy. 💙🙏
Today we celebrated International Coastal Clean Up Day in Camps Bay, doing a beach clean up from the Tidal Pool to Glen Beach.
We filled 25 garbage bags, with 20 adults and some children participating this morning.
A very big THANK YOU 👏👏👏 to:
#. Councillor Nicola Jowell with her husband and son, being hands on in picking up litter
#. Marius Blanc and Emma Farquharson of The 41 who provided tables, a chair, coffee vouchers for each participant, Social Media support, and who participated in the clean up too.
#. Jared Ruggles Stein of Camps Bay Hardware who generously donated 100 garbage bags.
#. The NSRI Bakoven Team who already are volunteers, and volunteered for the clean up too.
#. The City of Cape Town for sending a truck to collect our bags of litter.
#. Rick Jackson and Tracy Jackson of #PIckItUp, a partner in the clean up.
Tindlovu gave me some discount vouchers so I handed them out today.
I’ve just received a message from the Canadian Tour Operator for which I did Tour Guiding last year, to check if I want to continue Guiding. It was so exciting receiving the message, feeling a lot closer to possibly starting Guiding soon again. ❤️
I had a chat with the owner of Firefly Café, about my experience yesterday. He was a good listener. I’m delaying posting a review, hoping they can fix the service. I met Facebook Friend Craig Whitehead from Joburg there, soon to join the Cape movement.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
