Sunday 20 September 2020, Day 34 and last day of Level 2, Day 178 of Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for another day of rain, at 16C, with a little bite this afternoon, our second wet Sunday in a row, making it a lazy stay-in-bed morning; for a fresh walk through Camps Bay, with litter to pick up; for a quick shop at Woolies, getting back just in time before the next drizzle; more peace and quiet at home; for a second walk, up to the Tidal Pool; for some Playlist dancing 💃 to make up my step goal; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I woke up to a storm of messages in a Camps Bay Whats App Group, starting with news of a Maserati having crashed into a wall on Camps Bay Drive in the early hours of this morning, destroying a nearby parked car in the process, leading to a discussion about the number of cars racing through Camps Bay, the fancier the car the less likely it is to have license plates, for wild parties happening in Camps Bay guest houses, AirBnBs, and self-catering accommodation on weekends, carrying on long after the start of Curfew, linked to visitors from other countries on our continent. On my first walk I saw a very fancy black Merc parked at the police station, told by a security man that an Uber had driven into the door of the Merc when its door was opened! In broad daylight!
The fourth apartment in our building, directly above me, received clients last night, having stood empty for almost 4 months. So far so good. 😱

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
