Tuesday 6 April 2021, Day 37 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a most beautiful day after the fierce wind last night, at 25C; for a 9 hour sleep, feeling very relaxed; for a busy writing morning; for a powerful Cardio walk to Bakoven and then to The 41 Restaurant in Camps Bay to meet new Facebook friend Charlene Shapiro for tea, and we have a lot in common, such a surprise that she is from my neighbouring town Paarl as well; for a lovely sunset; for gratitude to Brian van Hansen for creating a collage for me for one of my clients 💙; for a refreshing walk back home, happy that I scored 300 Discovery points today, and two more days to go until I achieve a significant Discovery goal; and for being happy and healthy.

My blogpost today was my monthly update of the restaurants that have opened and closed since Lockdown started a year ago 😱

New restaurants open, one Restaurant Closure, in Cape Town and Winelands since March! April 2021

Charlene Shapiro runs a Family business CNC, selling food products such as nuts, dried fruit, sweets, bar snacks, feta cheese, salmon Etc to the hospitality industry. She and her daughter are also involved in Souper Troopers, a food charity run in conjunction with the Community Chest. 👏👏😻

We have a horrid fly plague in Camps Bay all of a sudden, apparently due to the vast amounts of kelp on the beaches. Earl Grey is loving chasing them and is doing the high jump to try to reach them. 😻

I can’t help but associate this day with Van Riebeek Day. I got into terrible trouble when I wrote some years ago that I was so grateful that he opened up our country and beautiful city to immigrants like I. 😱

SA Corona Status 1 552 853 cases 53032 deaths 😷🥲 272438 vaccinations

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
