Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for good rain overnight; for a far cooler day, almost back to winter, at 16C; for a walk to Bakoven in the morning, and to Woolworths in the afternoon, seeing the first Starbucks store branding next to the Pick n Pay; for bumping into Andy Jo, one of two German swallow couples who have just returned to Camps Bay, just before our country was closed down to Germany, and Germany goes into a second Lockdown from Monday; for a first client status meeting, so excited about all the news opportunities lying ahead; for a good shopping experience at the newish Pick n Pay on Strand Street; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
My Blogpost today was about the ‘Around the Table’ book which I won last night, written by Denise Cowburn-Levy, a Food journey from Cape Town, the West Coast, to Italy, Greece, and Thailand, with 260 pages of recipes and memories shared.
On my way home I popped in at Dinkel Bakery on Kloofnek Road, finding my favorite poppy seed rolls in stock. They told me about the new German low-cost Food importer upstairs, the book store having closed down. Unbelievably low prices, better than the place I’ve supported near the Garden Centre. Next week the German Christmas treats arrive. 😱🎄⭐️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
