Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a lovely sunny day at 19C, with the South-Easter picking up now; for a working day, not having any meetings today and tomorrow; for an interview with a journalist about AirBnB, both as a client and as a resident in a building which actively does AirBnB; for happy to see that Pick n Pay Camps Bay got in some Whiskas dry food for my cats, there being a national shortage 😻😻; for receiving the link of an interview done by Janet Pillai on her ‘Jetsetting with Janet’ program on Radio Helderberg, mainly about Zest, alongside the great Sheryl Ozinsky (link below); and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙

My Blogpost today was an update of the number of restaurants opening and closing since the start of Lockdown: 91 opening, 111 closing. Four new restaurants will open in Camps Bay in November.

Restaurant Business picks up and new Restaurants to open in Camps Bay, no closures other than The Test Kitchen !

Today was a day of noise of a different kind in our building, with a company delivering gas bottles, an aircon company doing repairs, a maintenance company repairing a ceiling outside, and a caterpillar digging test holes in the erf next to us, luckily not on my side of the building, a new apartment block going up soon.

Instagram and Facebook are not working, and there are apparently problems with What’s App too. 😱 Mercury Retrograde strikes, true to form.

SA Corona Status: 2 906 851 cases 87819 deaths 18 073 784 vaccinations

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, and returned to Level 1 on 1 October is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
