Friday 4 February 2022, Day 127 of Level 1 😷

Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a sunny but windy day, the wind strong now in Camps Bay; for a well-paced working day, posting for my clients; for getting my German birth certificate translated, a bureaucratic requirement of Home Affairs!; for starting to do payments to confirm bookings for the Safari Tour next month; for a Vit D top up on the terrace; for finding baby figs at Woolies in Camps Bay, hearing from Sheryl Ozinsky that the fig season is two weeks late, and that the proper sized ones will only Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a lovely sunny day at 19C, with the South-Easter picking up now; for a working day, not having any meetings today and tomorrow; for an interview with a journalist about AirBnB, both as a client and as a resident in a building which actively does AirBnB; for happy to see that Pick n Pay Camps Bay got in some Whiskas dry food for my cats, there being a national shortage 😻😻; for receiving the link of an interview done by Janet Pillai on her ‘Jetsetting with Janet’ program on Continue reading →

Sunday 25 July 2021, Day 28 of Level 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a beautiful day, peaking at 24C; for a morning treat, after some work, to pick up croissants at Paris Cape Town (very buzzy), an ice cream at The Dairy Den (very empty), the Oranjezicht Urban City Farm Market (very buzzy, lovely to chat to Sheryl Ozinsky 💙), and fetching post at the Waterfront (very quiet); for a walk to Camps Bay, jam-packed, everyone out to enjoy the beautiful day, with a huge traffic jam late afternoon; for a beautiful sunset; for a long chat with Stuart Bailey, excited about what our President will say tonight; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Saturday 23 May 2020, Day 23 of Level 4, after 35 days of Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a day that didn’t go as planned at all, but was filled with highlights; for our Building Manager Henry coming for the day, doing a fantastic job of cleaning up and doing gardening, so lovely to see him again after 8 weeks of him being at home 🙏; for a very short and sweet Exercise Time, my shortest since 1 May; for going shopping at the Oranjezicht City Farm Organic Market with Shubha Shukla; for meeting Farmer Ian at the Oranjezicht Farm and learning so much from him about the underwater springs and their ’architectural’ style of gardening there; of reaching the milestone of 4000 members in the Facebook Restaurant Food Delivery Group; for returning to my beautiful clean apartment block, after Henry’s hard work; for taking Henry back to Wynberg, giving me an opportunity to have a look at Four&Twenty Café, now purely a Deli during Lockdown; for Miss Minsky 🐱 being delivered to me just as I got home, both of us excited yet very nervous 😱; for dancing far less than usual, having to give love to both Minsky 🐱 and KitKat 🐱; for going to bed early after a busy day; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
