Saturday 11 July 2020, Day 41 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a mostly sunny day, after the two days of heavy rain, with some cloud about, with lots of 💙-clouds; for a deep and long sleep, my resting heart rate having dropped to its lowest since I obtained a FitBit, at 55 beats per minute; for Minsky coming back home eventually three times today, clearly being excited about being outside in the sun again and chasing birds, after two days of mostly being inside, not without some heart palpitations for me, when she stayed away so long; for a lovely sunny Camps Bay walk, fetching some Maison J croissants which they had kept for me, and buying another ‘lily’ type plant to fill one garden gap; for some Vit D on the terrace, it being so warm outside, Minsky lying on the lounger alongside mine, loving sleeping in the sun, after all her excitement this morning; for a Bakoven walk, watching a wild ocean; for another wonderful concert by Daniel Hope and his Hope @ Home on Tour, in Lübeck this evening, and for it being an extended concert with the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
Ciska Kruger came to fetch her prize of a bottle of ADHARA extra virgin olive oil, sponsored by the Mayer Family, won in a competition in my Facebook Group.
On my walk in Camps Bay, buying a plant at Sunset Sessions, I was told that they have moved the Deli, the ‘bottle store’, and the coffee and home-baked treats to the Bay Hotel Café, the intention being to open a French Bistro-style in the Sunset Sessions space shortly. The Unframed ice cream is still for sale in the Sunset Sessions space.
Once again my list of Restaurant Closures was posted without my knowledge or credit to me in Die Burger, reading about it on the Good, Bad, and Nasty Facebook Group. Someone just posted a photograph of the List, but not the article accompanying it, which was about the court case taking place on 14/7, demanding that restaurants be allowed to serve alcohol with meals. The same debate took place about the List as we have had before. I contacted the author of the article, Jana Breytenbach, and she assured me that she had given me credit for it. While it does appear in the Media 24 article digitally, it does not in Die Burger article. 🥵🥵🥵

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
