Sunday 28 February 2021, Day 65 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 340 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a total of 9 hours of sleep since last night, in three sessions, obviously needing a catch up after yesterday’s sleep deficiency; for the terrible muscle pain behind my left knee having gone 💙; for Imtiaz returning to work; for seeing Barbara Lenhard for a very short while when she came to fetch her car from my garage; for an afternoon cleanup at the Tidal Pool but beyond the capability of Imtiaz and I; for finally washing my dishes from Wednesday, despite having a never-used dishwasher 😱; for the most beautiful peace in our building today, with the lift barely used, the silence feeling loud… ; for happily kissing my Vodacom contract goodbye; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

The Adidas shoes made me walk differently yesterday, so I must have pulled a muscle in my left leg. It was so bad that I could not accompany Imtiaz on a planned walk this morning, and could barely make it up and down my steps. But now all is good again.

Camps Bay was jam-packed since early this morning and the traffic jam is still extending beyond the apartment. I loved staying in my home all day until the beach clean this afternoon. The 31 C day attracted hordes of picnickers. The City of Council let us down terribly, almost all the green bins overflowing, and no cleaners in sight in the hour in which we were at the Tidal Pool, despite two meetings with Xolani, Cape Town Head of Cleansing and The Area Manager, warning them yesterday already that we would need support! 😡😡😡

Odwa from Pick n Pay very kindly agreed to keep my Daily Maverick 168 until tomorrow, not wanting to wander through crowded Camps Bay. 💙

Opening the bottle of wine to digest what President Cyril has in store for us tonight. 😱

President Ramaphosa moves SA to Level 1, shifts Curfew to midnight – 4h00, Restaurants remain open until 23h00!

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, and extended but relaxed on 1 February, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
