Thursday 26 November 2020, Day 67 of Level 1, Day 246 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful day, with the South Easter picking up this afternoon; for feeling on top of the world; for a quick walk through Bakoven; for an excellent client status meeting this afternoon, with good news from both sides; with a shop at a Pick n Pay Branch in town, connecting with the store manager who was at the Camps Bay store until earlier this year, helping me with an overcharge on a mushroom deal, so he gave them to me for free 🙏; for dancing the rest of my steps to Kfm; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

Today I wrote about Veganism, realizing how little I know about it, after baking the Vegan cake yesterday, sharing the cake recipe, a quick 10 minute bake in the microwave. Chef Luke Dale Roberts of The Test Kitchen is addressing Cape Town’s first online Vegan and Plant-powered Festival on Saturday, demonstrating the making of a green Spring dish. 🌿

I really love working on my client’s Communications, and we have made great progress in the four weeks so far, so excited to see the growth in its Instagram and Facebook following. The cherry on top was meeting one of the goals we set, ie to receive a review on the Cape Town Restaurants: the Good, Bad, and Nasty Facebook Group, which has about 35000 members. Well, we received two within the past 24 hours., both positive. Sooo exciting ❤️❤️❤️❤️. My client shared that the restaurant is booming, especially on weekday evenings, a special good value Tasting Menu having been slow to start, but now it has taken off amazingly. 👏👏👏👏. Today I presented my first Consultant invoice in 25 years, a further excitement, proud of a job well done to date. And it was only two weeks ago that I doubted my capability, and that dear friend Jenny Stephens cheered me up. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I would love to celebrate, but don’t drink on my own.

It was special to see a beautifully decorated Thanksgiving dinner table for a celebration by an American company this evening. I had to read up about it, basically a festival giving thanks to the harvest. There were pumpkins on the dinner table as decoration, and hollowed out ones served as bowls for flower decorations.

And then I received a Whats App from my Alex, and we chatted on the phone, he having just been promoted in one of his jobs. So proud of my boykie. ❤️❤️❤️

A special day of celebration, and remembering my special dad’s birthday. ❤️

PS. Just seen the third review posted about my client on the Cape Town Restaurants Good, Bad & Nasty Facebook Group. 👏👏👏

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
