Wednesday 8 December 2021, Day 69 of Level 1 😷

My Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a very calm organized working day, getting a website edit completed and posting for each of my clients, without any major disturbances to distract me; for a client newsletter finally finished and sent out; for a Bakoven walk; for excellent Status meetings at newkings boutique hotel and Zest; for a lovely 26C summer day with only a mild breeze; for fabulous service at my laundry, dropping off bed linen; for a late afternoon walk to Camps Bay with a wonderful golden sunset, and some whales jumping in the bay; for all the wonderful years I spent at Melissa’s, Deli Co, and then Peppertree Café 🙏; and for being happy (and a little sad), healthy, and free. 🙏💙

What a sad end to the day in hearing from Viv that Peppertree Café and its owner Bernard Munnik are no more. It was my second home for many years. RIP Bernard. They are doing a Backabuddy collection for the staff. 😱🥲 The restaurant industry is going through another torrid time, 50% of bookings for this month wiped out in some cases 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲 Gary Peterson

For the first time this year I only received one Discovery Gameboard play, having been slack in the past week in reaching my 7500 step goal due to being so busy 😱😢

SA Corona Status: 3,071,064 cases 90038 deaths  26,781,642 vaccinations

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, and returned to Level 1 on 1 October is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
