Sunday 7 March 2021, Day 7 of Level 1, Day 347 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a cool 19C light drizzle grey day, a first touch of autumn; for being relaxed, my first deep and long sleep night of the past week; for an amazing 3 hour catch-up tea/coffee and shared omelet with Vivian Warby at The 41, not having seen each other in more than two months, brainstorming and getting practical Social Media tips from each other, Emma of the restaurant spoiling us as always; for two Camps Bay walks, bumping into German swallows Thomas and Haakon on the first, and ‘buying’ the Daily Maverick 168 at Pick n Pay and Tex Chocies on the second ; for there being minimal litter today, with not too many picnickers; for a wonderful afternoon snooze; for a chat with Stuart Bailey, introducing a new service at his De Vleispaleis this week; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

I was lusting after two Tex bars, which I wanted to buy at Pick n Pay, but they had run out. Manager Thando went to check in their stock room, and found a packet of mini Tex bars, which he gave me as a gift for having walked all the way. Amazing service. 👏

Viv and I were so hungry when the omelet was served at The 41 that I forgot to photograph it, which does not happen very often!

I love walking in Camps Bay, never knowing what I’ll come across. Today it was two dapper dressed men, and then a mom in a ball gown carrying a baby daughter wearing a kitten dress and the smartest dressed little boy, with a stretch limo across the road, a treat for her two daughters passing matric. Wow 😱

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
