Monday 17 May 2021, Day 78 of Level 1 😊

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Gratitude for surviving a Manic Monday, the busiest in many years; for Loadshedding giving me a 2 hour focused gap to read the Sectional Title Act, and about the Maintenance & Repair Reserve Fund as well as Special Levies, in preparation for a meeting tomorrow; for a midday walk to Camps Bay, to gift my favorite car guard Lewis the pair of socks I received from the Western Cape Blood Service; for a lovely sunny day at 19C, enjoying walking in a sleeveless top and shorts; for being up to date with my work; for a quick chat with Stuart Bailey; for a Camps Bay & Clifton Ratepayers Association meeting on Zoom; for a late meeting with builders who I’ve asked to quote, at 20% of the R1 million alternative; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙

My Blogpost today was about SeaBreeze Fish & Shell, Cape Town’s specialist fish restaurant on Bree Street, and its owners returning to Scotland whilst waiting for their visa renewal. In the meantime Chef Alex Grahame is Head Chef at the restaurant at Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s summer residence. 👏

SeaBreeze Fish & Shell continues operating while the owners await SA visa renewal in Scotland, Chef Alex Grahame cooking at Balmoral Castle!

It was a day of pressure, being pressurized to get things done for which I needed someone in turn to help me with, and I pressurizing someone for information to enable me to finish my work. But it all worked out eventually.

SA Corona Status: 1 615 485 cases 55265 deaths 😷🥲 478433 vaccinations

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
