Tuesday 3 August 2021, Day 9 of Level 3 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a special day 🙏; for a good nights sleep in my newkings boutique hotel bed; for a spoil breakfast at Zest Restaurant; for an exciting reveal of the new Zest website, to go live at the end of the week 👏; for being very lucky to get a late afternoon emergency appointment at my dentist, when an implant cracked last night, and not having to pay a cent for him to reinstate the implant 🙏,, delaying my departure to Gordon’s Bay, so I worked from home for a while, Earl Grey so happy to see his mama, the first time since his arrival that I haven’t slept at home😻; for a Bakoven walk; for a pleasant safe drive to Gordon’s Bay, not having driven through Somerset West in at least 18 months, getting to Richard and Jeanette Loring’s 185 on Beach just as the sun was setting, being spoilt rotten, with the most comfy bed and an electric blanket ❤️❤️❤️; for an amazing (sunset) view from their guest house; for another day of abundance 🙏; and for being happy, healthy and free.

My Blogpost today was the August update of the Restaurant industry in Cape Town and the Winelands.

Restaurant industry badly hit by Level 4 Lockdown in July, but few casualties except The Test Kitchen: August update!

Richard and Jeanette Loring are wonderful hosts. He is a entertainment legend, writing his autobiography. She is a bubbly informative charming hostess, having a glass of bubbly with me on their beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean near the Harbour and Bikini Beach, and I can hear the ocean as I write this. We went out for dinner, of all places to Zest in Gordon’s Bay, not knowing about my Zest Cape Town connection initially. I had a wonderful hake and chips, preceded by leek and mushroom croquettes, and followed by chocolate fondant. A feast. 🙏🙏🙏. After all that eating my breakfast order has already been taken for tomorrow 💙

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July, and returned to Level 3 on 26 July, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
