La Parada is my favorite Constantia venue, spending every Sunday afternoon there, enjoying the music of DJ René Tanguy, and dancing. From tomorrow onwards, Toast Brunch will be served at Constantia Nek on the first Sunday of the month, from 10h00 – 14h00, at R 350 per head.
A three course Toast Brunch menu will be offered. The first course has me hooked already, being Churros served with coffee.
The second course is a cold one, offering a choice of Breakfast trifle, with caramelised croissant, vanilla crême Fraîche, berry compote, candied nuts, and honey; or yoghurt white grape panna cotta, with pistachio and white chocolate biscotti, and compressed cucumber.
The third course is a hot one, and three options are offered:
#. French Toast, made with panettone, vanilla strained yoghurt, candied bacon, and Bourbon banana.
#. Croque Madame, a pan-fried brioche stuffed with whole grain mustard and white cheddar bechamel, sliced gammon, and poached duck egg.
#. Eggs Benedict, poached eggs on spinach croquettes with smoked pork belly, smoked salmon trout, or Spanish garlic mushrooms, with brûléed hollandaise.
Beverages on offer as extras are teas/coffees, Bloody Mary, and Pongracz MCC by the glass (R75) or bottle (R209).
