After a busy 2015 for the Leeu Collection in Franschhoek, having opened Leeu House and Tuk Tuk Microbrewery, having bought Le Quartier Français, while still finalizing its Leeu Estates opening in June, the hospitality group has announced that it has purchased Linthwaite House boutique hotel in the Lake District in the UK, taking over the property as of today.
Linthwaite House has four AA Red Stars, and offers accommodation in 30 bedrooms. It was first built as a country house 115 years ago, and has been run as a boutique hotel for the past 25 years. It offers its guests complete privacy, and lovely views over the surrounding hills and Lake Windermere. In addition to large landscaped gardens, the boutique hotel has a 3 AA Rosette restaurant, offering finest Lake District cuisine.
Linthwaite House has won exceptional accolades, including ‘Best Service‘ from Condé Nast Johansens 2016 UK & Ireland Awards for Excellence, and the Good Hotel Guide’s Editor’s Choice 2016 award in the ‘Romantic Hotel‘ category, which echo the standards set by the new owner and Leeu Collection’s founder, Indian industrialist Mr Analjit Singh.
