Sweet Service Award goes to Absolute Pets; Sour Service Award goes to Clicks!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Absolute Pets in Camps Bay, and to its staff member Bukeka, for her kindness and advice shown to me in buying cat food, a name tag for a new cat, as well as cat treats. I’m a brand new cat owner, and her interest in my new cat whenever I shop there is a delight, reflecting that she herself loves pets.

The Sour Service Award goes to Clicks on Regent Road in Sea Point, for its store manager telling me to buy Smarties elsewhere in future, when I requested to be served by a staff member with a mask. The only cashier at the desk wore a visor but no Clicks branded mask, he being the only staff member not wearing both Covid protection items. He had already touched each of the 28 Smarties boxes I was buying to count them, and another staff member could not take over his till. I was told to go the next till, where a staff member counted each Smarties box again by touch, a process that took double the time it should have and doubled my risk! My request was seen as a major insult, despite not wearing a mask being contrary to Corona Virus Lockdown Level 4 regulations.
