The Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths Camps Bay, and its Managers Yibanathi, who walked me through the store with his cellphone Torch when the store was in darkness during Lockdown earlier this week. The Promenade building has a generator, and has power in all its outlets during Lockdown, but on this day the lights in the Woolworths store were not working. When my shopping was complete, he walked me to the tills, which fortunately were working.
The Sour Service Award goes to LandsCape Art Garden Centre in Sea Point, where I bought Spring plants on Tuesday this week. The service was disappointing: from strict Covid protocols on two previous Lockdown visits, there was no one at the door this week to do the temperature check and sanitizing. The cost of the plants appear to have doubled since the beginning of Lockdown, the garden centre having offered good value when it was located in its previous building. There was no one to assist me, and I had to request service. I had to extract all information about where to plant the plants in the garden. The variety of plants offered seemed reduced compared to their former outlet. The cashier forgot that on Tuesdays pensioners are entitled to a 10% discount.
