The Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths at Constantia Emporium, for the cashier’s friendly service (not always guaranteed at Woolworths stores), and proactive offer to clean my credit card and to sanitise my hands after I finished paying for my shopping, something I’ve never experienced before.
The Sour Service Award goes to Camps Bay Apartments and its owner Elize Sewell, for the misleading marketing of Camps Bay Ebb Tide Apartment 201 belonging to Sacha Jack. The website has a video of the apartment, with the fake claim of 24 hour staff service (the EbbTide Building Manager is only available on weekdays, during the day and not at night, but he has no duties to fulfill for the rental apartments specifically, other than cleaning the plunge pools), featuring him in the video as if he is an Apartment 201 staff member! What the video does not reveal is the number of times the Camps Bay police and security company Camps Bay CSI have to come to the block and especially to Apartment 201 for Noise Disturbance complaints, seven times in the past three weeks! While one is allocated one parking bay in the building as a client, one can be parked in by the renters’ visitors occupying the apartment and hosting wild, noisy parties at all hours of the day and night in this apartment, in violation of our country’s Curfew and Level 4 Lockdown regulations. The building has a noisy lift due to it being in a central lift shaft, and each apartment’s main bedroom is affected by the disturbing noise of the lift, the renters using it at all hours of the day and night. I am the only permanent resident in the building, and have lived here for three years.
