Exciting news in these Covid Lockdown times is that Tintswalo Atlantic, at the foot of Chapman’s Peak and offering the best restaurant view in Cape Town, is reopening its restaurant tomorrow 29 July, now named Tintswalo Kitchen, specifically focusing on the local market, but serving its in-house hotel guests too.

A newly appointed kitchen team, under the leadership of former The Shortmarket Club Sous Chef Sean Klette, will serve fresh seasonal cuisine presented as small plate dishes. A variety of dishes is available, one selecting five of these at R650 per head. A variety of seafood, vegetarian, meat, and dessert dishes is offered.

Chef Sean’s first work experience was at Tintswalo Atlantic eleven years ago, coming full circle in now heading up its kitchen. He previously worked at The Shortmarket Club for three years, at Savoy Cabbage, and at the Sandton Sun Hotel.  He completed his studies at the HTA School of Culinary Art in Johannesburg.

Joining him in the Tintswalo Kitchen from The Shortmarket Club are Samson Malaya and Tyron Taplin. Both have received training from the Silwood School of Cooking. The Shortmarket Club was the first casualty of the Corona Virus Lockdown, owner Chef Luke Dale Roberts announcing its closure during Level 5.  Two further kitchen staff members are Chefs Dustin Hammond and Memory Limwomba, already Tintswalo staff members.

The Tintswalo Atlantic Hotel reopens tomorrow with ten rooms, and a specially created private bar and lounge area for in-house guests. It is offering a special 50% reduced two-night stay to South African residents.
