Tintswalo Kitchen at Tintswalo Atlantic to be transformed into Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic!

Two months after launching Tintswalo Kitchen at Tintswalo in Hout Bay, it has closed down, making space for the new opening on 2 November of Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic, the fourth Chefs Warehouse to be opened by Chef Liam Tomlin in Cape Town and Winelands. It will be offering Tapas for 2 for four courses at R1500 for two persons, an increase in the cost of eating at Tintswalo Atlantic in terms of a higher price and one less course, from just two months ago.   Continue reading →

New Tintswalo Kitchen just out of the ordinary, raises the food bar at Tintswalo Atlantic, with brand new kitchen team and new menu!

It took a bit of juggling to find the perfect day to visit the newly opened Tintswalo Kitchen restaurant, given the very wintery weather we are experiencing in the Cape this year. We chose a day ten days ago, and my dining partner Gary Peterson and I were very excited about the visit, with alterations having been done to Tintswalo Atlantic during the earlier Levels of Covid Lockdown, in adding a separate in-house Guest Lounge and Bar, the creation of a new Small Plate Menu concept, and the appointment of a new kitchen team.

And how perfect it turned out to be, with the best possible weather, the company of Gary, the best view possible, delicious dishes, and superb service. Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the most beautiful sunny day, with only a slight chill when a cloud got in the way, at 15C; for the funnest lunch at Tintswalo Atlantic and its brand new Tintswalo Kitchen, headed by Executive Chef Sean Klette and his team, some from the former The Shortmarket Club, with Gary Peterson ; for the funniest visit to Woolies Camps Bay, where I had to speak for a Jerusalem video and then dance with two of their staff …. 😂; for a quick visit to Law Enforcement Officer Ivor Ramsay, getting back just as Gary arrived; for the super punctual delivery of cat litter and cat food by Takealot, a day ahead of schedule; FOR MY HERMANUS HOUSE SALE SIGNED AND SEALED after 5,5 years ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ #Hallelujah, and a huge thank you once again to Johan Prins for being the matchmaker, having met him on my Tourist Guiding course, to which Gary and I drank a toast; for a quick walk through Bakoven and dancing to Kfm 👣💃 when I got back home; for receiving three Discovery Gameboard plays with a total of 830 Miles, my best score ever 😱; for receiving a job offer today, what an exciting day ❤️; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Tuesday 28 July, Day 58 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful sunny day, with a lovely sunset; for a very long 9,5 hour sleep in two bouts, Minsky being a good girl and not waking me up; for the joy of being reunited with five precious Russian silver champagne glasses which I thought I had lost, and had let go of them… until Henry and I found them when we tidied up my storeroom, finding a bottle of red wine too, sent by a PR company a year ago when I was traveling, and for finding two very large paintings with a marine theme, which are perfect to hang in my single spare room, adding a good blue touch to a very white room, the tidy-up bringing such joy ❤️; a walk through Camps Bay and Bakoven, it sadly being very quiet in all the restaurants; for the indulgence of an electric blanket, warming me up in my bed; for having no stress or worries today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
