Chef Liam Tomlin is a doyen of the restaurant industry in the Cape, owning Chefs Warehouses in Franschhoek, Constantia and at Tintswalo, as well as Thali.
It was by chance that I discovered Labotessa Café in the Labotessa Boutique Hotel on Church Square in Parliament Street in Cape Town two weeks ago. It is part of the Labotessa Hotel, in a beautifully renovated five story building reminiscent of Amsterdam from its exterior, exuding beauty and style.

When the idea came to me to make a three day stop in Lima, Peru, having to make a stop in the city anyway in flying from Havana to Buenos Aires, I could not have dreamt that I would be able to eat at two of three iconic restaurants in this city, it having two Top 10 World’s 50 Best Restaurants in the city, an unbelievable achievement.
At the end of March Bo-Kaap was declared a ‘Heritage protection overlay zone’ by the City of Cape Town, after a six year battle to prevent large property developments in the area, reported the Atlantic Sun.
