Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 63 of Level 3, 2 August 2020.

Sunday 2 August 2020, Day 63 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful 23C day, another sunny beach day in Camps Bay, the traffic snaking through from the Hout Bay side; for a morning coffee/tea and croissant meet with Lynne Gordon at Maison J, sitting in the sun across the road, and for meeting her friend Tourist Guide and Uber driver Brandon Platt, whom I had wanted to meet, only knowing him from Facebook; for two further Camps Bay walks, one a shopping one, mainly for cat food, and because I forgot the packet at Absolute Pets from talking too much, I had to go back again to fetch it, an easy way to gain more steps; for a peaceful rest at my favorite Bench at the Tidal Pool; for the Beethoven concert from Beethoven House in Bonn by Daniel Hope of Hope@Home on Tour, his very last one of 70 he has done during Lockdown, an amazing treat; for my Alex helping me to get my CV finalized, the first I’ve written in 30 years 😱; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sunday 14 June 2020, Day 14 of Level 3, after 66 days at Lockdown Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the lovely rain falling now, as well as early this afternoon, it can never rain enough ☔️; for a sun break this afternoon so that I could do a Camps Bay walk and pop in at Pick n Pay, its Service having improved vastly since Lockdown, now stocking local butter again after only selling imported brands, when I requested this of the manager 🙏; for a spoil morning in bed, becoming a bad habit, when I felt cold; for loving wearing my shorts when I walk, not feeling the cold then, asked by a local on the walk if I’m a foreigner in wearing the shorts …. ; for the privilege of listening to a Solo piano concert by Nina Schumann, playing virtually for the first time from Casa Labia in Muizenberg, by invite from Louise Howlett 💙🙏🎶; for a special concert coming by Daniel Hope in Schloss Elmau in the Bavarian Alps, tonight indoors; for dancing to my fabulous playlist, a mix of pop and classic, both danceable 💃💃💃; for a long phone chat with Jenny Stephens; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

South African Music industry flourishes during Corona Virus Lockdown, makes history on Kfm!

I love pop music, and was delighted to hear presenter Carl Wastie announce on Saturday morning in his award-winning show Top40SA that 13 South African songs made it onto the Top 40 List, of which six songs made the Top 10 list, and Mathew Gold’s local song ‘Burn’ made it into the number one slot! Kfm is making a special effort to promote South African music by playing only local songs in ‘SA Royalty’ from 22h00 – 24h00 every evening.

Book Review: ‘Life Simplified: A Transformational Book’ by Nianell disappoints!

I have heard singer Nianell perform, and read the glowing profile of her past success of her first published book ‘Knowing who I am’ that made me react to a post on Facebook about her second book ‘Life Simplified: A Transformational Book’, and requesting a review copy from JDoubleD Publicity. I found the book to not live up to its hype.  Continue reading →
