Sweet Service Award goes to The Creamery in the V & A; Sour Service Award goes to Discovery!

The Sweet Service Award goes to The Creamery at the new Harbour View in the V & A Waterfront, and to Marvellous, for his marvellous service when I wanted to pay for my ice cream treat in cash. They only accept payment by credit card, probably not due to Covid, but due to staff pilfering! Putting R44 on a credit card is ridiculous! Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a mainly organized day; for it being warm at 31C without wind, after last night’s hefty storm; for preparing for my client meeting this afternoon; for our garage door getting the day wrong, refusing to close today, usually playing up on Saturdays; for ‘fortunately’ forgetting my cellphone at home, having to return from Gardens to fetch it, to find out that Henry was unable to get the garage door to close, so Ms Organizer Chris jumped onto my phone, found the garage door guy recommended by Nicholas Fjord via Gary Peterson, giving us amazing service to get the garage door Continue reading →

February 2022 Restaurant Update: Can restaurant owners survive any more of the Lockdown? No new restaurants open.

 

The past 22 months have taken their toll on the restaurant industry, with restaurant owners suffering nervous breakdowns, having committed suicide, or suffered anxiety and stress, in worrying about how to pay their bills, with landlords and suppliers no longer being as generous in coming to the party as they did in earlier Levels of Lockdown.

It is no surprise therefore that no new restaurants have opened in the past month, international tourist numbers being surprisingly low, especially from the UK and Germany, the local market largely carrying the restaurant industry over the Festive Season.

MasterChef SA Season 4 2022 announces 20 home cook contestants!

 

 

 

 

 

 

M-Net is slowly rolling out details about its MasterChef Season 4, set to air on 28 February for the first time, at 18h00, on Mondays – Thursdays.

We know the names of the three new judges and we know the name of the new venue at which the filming took place.

Now we are introduced to the 20 home cooks who made the finals.
