Thursday 2 July 2020, Day 32 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 5 and 4 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a lovely day, cold initially, leading to light rain in the early afternoon, and then a sunny end of the day; for enjoying preparing today’s Blogpost; for a lovely stop at Bootlegger, and impressed with the kindness of its manager Jeandre, when I did a first short walk through Bakoven, getting home just before it started raining; for being able to award a bottle of ADHARA extra virgin Olive Oil to Café Charles in De Waterkant for its professional information and visual presentation of their delivery of a Lamb curry dinner last month; for a second longer walk, through Camps Bay, meeting new business persons setting up a business in Camps Bay; for a drink and light supper with my dearest friend Stuart Bailey, a surprise that he is such a cat lover too; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙
It was requested of me to compile a list of Restaurants offering a Sit-Down service, a challenge to compile it without a base to start with. But I persevered, and got to a list of about 150 restaurants in Cape Town and the Winelands. I was very grateful to Christopher Mark V Lowe for allowing me to post my Blogpost on his Restaurant Facebook page. 🙏
Restaurants offering Sit-Down service in Cape Town and Winelands in Lockdown Level 3: a First List!
Jeandre of Bootlegger Bakoven was very complimentary about the Lockdown Facebook Group,
without us ever having met before. We started chatting when I saw two ladies chatting over coffees there, as Sit-Down, it being the first Sit-Down customers I’ve seen since restaurants reopened on Monday. I asked permission to photograph them. I do not know them or their names.
The rain was very light, but every bit helps, and the garden is always happy. ☔️
I met a couple from up north, who found me on Facebook, and called me to ask advice about renting a store in Camps Bay for their product, hardly my forte. I was walking in Camps Bsy when they called, so met with them spontaneously, and I could give them an honest assessment of the best location to go for, and the shopping patterns of locals and tourists. I did feel very sorry for them, as they have signed already.
Stuart Bailey brought a bottle of wine, and I threw some snacks together, we sharing this on the terrace, until we had to go inside when it started drizzling again. He loved playing with Minsky, and declared her to be totally at home here🐱❤️, having had cats when he was younger. I always love our chats and his honesty, being a Sag too. ❤️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
