In a City of Cape Town Subcouncil 16 Awards Ceremony held on Monday three Camps Bay residents were awarded Mayor’s Civic Awards ‘in recognition of dedicated and generous service to the community in Good Hope Subcouncil (16). Your commitment to service delivery is hereby acknowledged with gratitude’.
In total 14 residents received Civic Awards. I am extremely grateful to be one of the Award recipients.

#Gratitude for a cooler day, sunny and ending on a humid note; for three delicious sets of sleep since last night, adding up to over 9 hours; for my hip ache of the last three days, with a limp, having disappeared 💙💙💙; for a Camps Bay Community Beach Clean, disappointing in its attendance but meeting lovely new locals, while having my Dilmah on the Beachside of the road, brought to me by the ever kind Emma from The 41 Restaurant, sponsoring beverages and a prize 🙏; for buying cat treats at Absolute Pets; for a refreshing walk to Bakoven and back; for 100 Discovery walking points and 360 Healthy Food points; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

#Grateful for a relaxed day, warmer than forecast, and quite humid; for a walk to Clifton and back, the first this week, gaining 200 Discovery steps; for a family afternoon sleep, Minsky and Earl Grey joining in; for a quick clean up at the Tidal Pool late this afternoon, lucky to have learners Marc from Bakoven, and Mia and her brother Kai with their mom Hayley in Camps Bay helping too 👏👏👏; for a fun evening photographing Mediterranean dishes at Anatoli, getting to taste the dishes too; and for being happy and healthy . 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a beautiful day at 28C, with almost no wind; for surviving the day with only 2 1/2 hours of sleep after terrible noise disturbance by renters of the apartment above me until 3h00 this morning, as well as Full Moon; to Emma at The 41 for strengthening me and pulling up my spirits with a Dilmah tea, and a delicious croissant with egg and bacon, served on the beachfront lawn 💙; for a fabulous community beach clean up, with Camps Bay High learners and drama students from the LATMA Academy at the Theatre on the Bay joining in; for finally giving up on my Reebok shoes which I bought in Havana 20 months ago, easily having walked 4500 km in them, now for Mr Grey to play with, he loving chewing the shoelaces; for a high-cardio walk to 3rd Beach in Clifton and back, earning 300 Discovery points; for a second beach clean this afternoon at the Tidal Pool, two High School learners and a mom joining me in removing masses of litter; for the peace and quiet in our building tonight, as the noise creators checked out this morning; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
