Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the copious amounts of rain which have fallen overnight and during the day, with a cloudburst at one stage; for the treat of having my hair cut and coloured by Isabella Page Morgan, my hair stylist for the past four years, part of my Transformation, at The Hair Company in Sea Point; for shopping under one roof in the Garden Centre, at Hartlief, Cassis, and Woolworths,  ;  for a quick Pop-In at Peppertree CafĂ©; for a most wonderful winter day snooze this afternoon; for listening to another episode of Hope@Home from The Monopol of the PeopleïżŒ in Berlin, with Georgian pianist Dudana Mazmanishvili ; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

#Grateful for a beauty of a summer’s day, so warm and with so many people out and about, walking and on the road thst it felt as if there would a traffic jam going through Camps Bay; for doing a deep-clean of the Camps Bay Beachfront with Joel this morning; for being calm and at peace, despite it being in Full Moon zone; for super Vit D therapy on the terrace this afternoon; for my FitBit having recovered to measure my steps again, but only 14 min of my heart beat….; for doing a second walk through Bakoven this afternoon; for so many friends caring about me, I receiving some advice about my Facebook post yesterday, so I amended it; for having the joy of Minsky living with me for 14 days already, completely at home, and loving my desk chair the most for sleeping on; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

ARD movie ‘Einfach Rosa – Wolken ĂŒber Kapstadt’ shows picturesque Cape Town!

Einfach RoaYesterday evening ARD, the largest TV station in Germany and second largest broadcaster in the world, screened a movie ‘Einfach Rosa – Wolken ĂŒber Kapstadt’ (‘Simply Rosa – clouds over Cape Town’), a most beautiful representation of Cape Town, and comes at a most welcome time to attract German tourists to our beautiful city and neighboring towns. It was filmed in Cape Town earlier this year.

Cape Town world’s Best City in Telegraph Travel Awards 2014!

Telegraph Cape-Town_3129517bCape Town has done it again, being named Best City in the World in the Telegraph Travel Awards 2014 by its readers for the third year in a row!  Vancouver and Venice follow in second and third position, respectively, this year. The motivation for Cape Town’s top position is written by Pippa du Bruyn, who is a Cape Town-based local travel writer and ‘destination expert’, including author of a ‘Frommer’s Guide’ to South Africa, and of  ‘A Hedonist’s Guide to Cape Town’.  De Bruyn surprisingly exaggerates our restaurants as ‘Michelin-rated‘ fare, and in describing Dyer Island near Gansbaai as being in Cape Town.  Her laudation for Cape Town follows: Continue reading →
