Saturday 27 June 2020, Day 27 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for the copious amounts of rain which have fallen overnight and during the day, with a cloudburst at one stage; for the treat of having my hair cut and coloured by Isabella Page Morgan, my hair stylist for the past four years, part of my Transformation, at The Hair Company in Sea Point; for shopping under one roof in the Garden Centre, at Hartlief, Cassis, and Woolworths, ; for a quick Pop-In at Peppertree Café; for a most wonderful winter day snooze this afternoon; for listening to another episode of Hope@Home from The Monopol of the People in Berlin, with Georgian pianist Dudana Mazmanishvili ; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I was the only client at The Hair Company for the first hour, and Isabella the only stylist on duty, the four partners taking turns to work, all alone, with no staff. What a spoil that Isabella did the washing and head massage too. All the magazines have been removed, and no beverages are served, as per their Corona protocol. After an hour another client arrived, was quickly attended to, and then I had Isabella to myself again. I’m very happy with the end result, my head feeling very much lighter with 90 days plus of hair growth removed. 👏👏👏 Isabella Page Morgan
Hartlief was smoked out today, the extractor not working. I had pre-ordered poppy seed rolls, the first I was able to buy here in three months, and the weekly treat of a small portion of steak tartare. The Woolies shop was non-eventful, and I was grateful when a staff member let me go in, despite their very long queue outside the door. I wanted to buy some wine, and was surprised (initially) that it was locked and that there was no one inside…. a new reality. 😱
I saw a pic of Pastei de Natas on the Instagram of Peppertree Café and had to have, so popped in there. Bernard and his crew are very excited to reopen for Sit-Down service on Monday.
I drove to the only garage in Camps Bay, being sure that it was a Shell, to top up my petrol before the next price hike next week, taking out my new Discovery Insure Card to be swiped. Luckily I had to wait for another customer to pay, and realized that it is a Caltex. Discovery prescribes BP or Shell for its Cash Back incentive. So this will wait for another day.
I did 5000 steps on my outing this morning, but now another 5000 steps of Couchrobics to Kfm’s Blokparty lie ahead. 👣
I cannot wait to get back into bed with my cat loving. 🐱💙
SA Corona Status: 131800 cases 2413 deaths 😷😥

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
