#grateful for some good rain, in three sets of showers throughout the day, even a few minutes ago, and chilly, good early to bed weather; for the best continuous sleep last night in a long time, at 7 1/2 hours; for a hard working morning preparing for my Status meetings at newkings and at Zest, lovely meetings in the afternoon, with lots of laughing with the hotel GM Martine; for a shop at Woolworths in Piazza da Luz and for seeing the lovely Manager Gary there; for two Bakoven walks today; for two Discovery Gameboard plays; for the excitement of receiving my Continue reading →

‘My Cape Town Guide/Mein Kapstadt Guide’ launched, after qualifying as a Tourist Guide during Lockdown!

 

In January I attended a Tourist Guiding course run by the Tourist Guiding Institute, with a theoretical as well as a practical content, and received my Certificate last week, the issuing thereof much delayed due to the Covid-19 Lockdown. I am qualified as a Cultural Tourist Guide, as well as a Wine Tourist Guide, for the Western Cape as well as Port Elizabeth and the Garden Route, and guide in English and in German. Thursday 21 May 2020, Day 21 of Level 4, after 35 days of Level 5. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, it being dry during Exercise Time and warm enough to walk sleeveless, with far fewer exercisers than yesterday; for focusing on my Cardio today, putting myself first, and picking up litter on my walk back home, getting as far as Clifton First Beach; for chatting to Ashleigh Fleming and her Dirk on the way back; for a morning focused on updating the Restaurant Food Delivery Facebook Group list, and for so many members inviting their Friends to the Group that we exceeded 3800 today; for the generosity once again from Jared Stein of Camps Bay Hardware in gifting me a piece of board to catproof my terrace for Minsky, Jared even dropping it off at my door; for a little drizzle this afternoon ☔️; for being featured twice in the May newsletter of the Canadian Tour Operator for whom I do the German Walking Tours of our City; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙 Continue reading →
