The Top 10 Women Chefs in Cape Town and the Winelands were announced on Women’s Day. Each winner receives a 1 litre tube of Rio Large Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
After a big fanfare about taking over the former HQ on Shortmarket Street, adjacent to his Chefs Warehouse Pinchos and Winebar in the same building, and turning it into a Local market of mini restaurants, an Italian restaurant La Cantina, and a Lebanese restaurant Mazza on the mezzanine level of the building in 2020, Chef Liam Tomlin has admitted defeat and walked away from all three restaurant projects, all in Heritage Square in town, he announced on his Social Media accounts last month! #Grateful for a beautiful day, at 28C, no wind, helping the firefighters to waterbomb the last bits of the fire this morning; for the firefighters who did such a fantastic job in looking after Cape Town in the past two days ❤️; for a long working and writing day, accomplishing my goals; for a long refreshing power walk, not thinking initially that I would have so much energy, gaining 300 Discovery points; for a lovely sunset treat in Bakoven on my way back; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
Former Anatoli owner Tayfun Aras published his ‘Anatoli Authentic Turkish Cuisine’ Cookbook in 2018, containing a collection of recipes of dishes served at Anatoli, many still on the menu, and his kitchen secrets. His culinary journey From Turkey to Cape Town is penned as well. Anatoli is one of Cape Town’s longest-established restaurants, still trading on Napier Street, where it opened its doors in 1984.
