Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 40 of Level 1, 9 April 2021

Friday 9 April 2021, Day 40 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for yet another beautiful day, at 23C, with no wind; for a busy writing day, feeling cross-eyed at the end of the afternoon; for two meetings cancelled, giving me more time and space to finish my work ahead of the weekend; for enjoying setting up my new iPad, luckily having all my passwords on hand; for a short snooze this afternoon; for a lovely peaceful walk with Vivian Warby, sitting at the Tidal Pool, so grateful for the sunset and catching up on each other’s day; for a walk to Bakoven after Viv left; for a very successful Blog week, with very good readership of my posts, especially the one of yesterday about KLEIN JAN having opened in the Kalahari; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus, Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 38 of Level 1, 7 April 2021.

Wednesday 7 April 2021, Day 38 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a lovely sunny 23C day; for an up and down day, luckily more up; for getting my writing work done in time before meeting with my client, he having the tea and shortbread ready when I arrived, being on the same wavelength as I on a number of decisions which needed to be made; for a lovely walk to the Camps Bay Tidal Pool with Vivian Warby, savouring the beautiful sunset; for (only) one Discovery Gameboard play, not receiving an Insure one for my poor driving score on my last Stellenbosch trip 😱; for a fabulously efficient Takealot order delivery, the perfection of online ordering; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Tuesday 16 March 2021, Day 16 of Level 1, Day 356 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a sunny summery day, at 22C, with a blustery South Easter, especially now; for a productive writing morning; for meeting my new Out of the Blue client at her Willowbridge outlet, not having been there in years, loving how open she is to new ideas; for a quick shop at the big Woolworths there, sadly with poor service, there not being enough cashiers at both sets of till points; for the surprise of seeing a branch of my favorite ice cream shop The Dairy Den at Willowbridge, not being able to resist an ice cream; for a refreshing walk up my favorite Bakoven steps and lanes, counting 100 steps in three lanes in total, the uphill walk plus steps giving me 300 Discovery points, and allowing me to pull my mask down most of the way unless I walk past someone, which is seldom; for a Cash Back from Woolies today for my healthy shopping; for no Loadshedding for us today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Out of the Blue; Sour Service Award goes to ANPA jewelers!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Out of the Blue clothing shop, and its owner Diane Armstrong, for the amazing service recovery in a very disappointing experience at the Franschhoek branch. I had popped in on a recent visit, looking for a Medium black long Top, which the store did not have in my size, so the assistant Hilary entered it into the computer as an order, I having to guarantee that I would buy it, but I needed to know when it would arrive in Franschhoek, returning to Cape Town two days later. We had to wait for the computer to message her an answer! As this took too long, I left my phone number with her. Not having heard from her for two hours, I went past the shop again, only finding her colleague there. She said that the person I had dealt with would call me the following Continue reading →
